Board members Albert and Neal have productive meeting with Ritz in Ad Hoc committee
07/25/2014

adhoc.jpgThe State Board of Education’s Ad Hoc committee met today to discuss board procedures as directed by a resolution approved by the board at its July 9 meeting.

Ad Hoc committee members Andrea Neal, Troy Albert and Superintendent Glenda Ritz met for approximately an hour and agreed on many of the questions facing the committee, including the question of allowing the adding of action items without proper notice to the public and board members. All 3 agreed last minute action items should not be allowed.

Board Chair, Superintendent Ritz will produce a document outlining the committee’s work as well as additional items for the full committee to discuss further at their next meeting.

The tone of the committee meeting was notably cordial and very professional with all three members often agreeing on procedures that would most benefit better transparency.

We commend board members Troy Albert, Andrea Neal and Superintendent Ritz for their professionalism and willingness to work productively together.
