BREAKING: Governor Pence and CECI coordinating legal effort to remove Ritz as board chair
12/04/2013

Following today’s State Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz released documents showing Governor Pence’s new shadow education agency, the Center for Education and Career Innovation (CECI) has written a memo to state board members to remove Superintendent Ritz as Chair of the State Board of Education. The documents also include draft legislation that removes the Superintendent of Public Instruction as Chair and makes the position appointed by Governor Pence.

A CECI spokesperson denied there is a plan to remove Superintendent Ritz, stating that the Governor has not taken a position on removing her as Chair.

This begs the question, has Governor Pence lost control of his agency?

Regardless, this is demonstrative proof that Governor Pence and his new duplicate education agency, CECI, are attempting a power grab from Superintendent Ritz.
