The Community Service Award is designed to recognize outstanding examples of courage, commitment, innovation, or dedication for the community. Winners will receive a plaque.
The recipients shall be members of ISTA and the official ISTA nomination form must be completed. The community service must have occurred outside the classroom. The service project shall be recently completed or currently in progress.
Each district council shall determine its own criteria and select a district award winner and report their selection to the Issues and Concerns Committee with appropriate rationale for the selection.
Selection of Recipient
The ISTA Governance Committee and its Communications Subcommittee will review the entries and recommend recipients to the Board of Directors.
The statewide Community Service Award will be presented at the Representative Assembly each year.
All members and local affiliates must submit their nominations by March 1 each year.
