Are you registered to vote? Have you recently moved? Did you register years ago and want to check your registration status?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you have until April 4 to register to vote in Indiana.

Hoosiers with a current Indiana driver's license or state issued identification card can visit www.IndianaVoters.com to register to vote online, check their registration status and more.

If your children, grandchildren or students will be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next general election, Nov. 8, they too can register to vote in the May 3 primary election - even if they are 17 years old today.

If you feel that you may not be able to make it to a polling place on May 3, April 5 is the first date to vote absentee-in-person. Voters also have the option of voting absentee-by-mail. Applications for an absentee-in-person or absentee-by-mail must be received by your county clerk by April 25.

Mark your calendar:

  • April 4 - Deadline to register to vote in Indiana primary
  • April 5 - Voting for absentee-in-person voting opens at your county election board office
  • April 25 - Deadline for applications for absentee-in-person or absentee-by-mail
  • May 3 - Primary election day

It has never been more important for educators and supporters of public schools to vote for candidates who value our state's public schools and the educators who help make them great.
