Input sought from state board on new state academic standards
02/08/2014

The State Board of Education is currently reviewing and crafting new Indiana academic standards. A team from the board is also reviewing the current Common Core national standards.

Several public meetings will be held later this month to seek public input on Indiana’s new academic standards.

Public hearings will be held 3:00p-7:00pm:

  • February 24 at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg
  • February 25 at Indiana Government Center South in Indianapolis
  • February 26 at Plymouth High School in Plymouth

After completely evaluating current standards and public feedback, a final version of the standards will reviewed by the State Board of Education in April. The new standards are expected to be implemented in the classroom beginning next fall.
