ISTA delivers letter to Gov Pence calling for temporary moratorium on accountability standards
08/26/2014

Meredith_deliver.jpgISTA President Teresa Meredith delivered a letter to Governor Mike Pence today asking that he take the lead for a temporary moratorium on Indiana’s accountability standards. The request is based on the US Department of Education’s announcement last week to allow flexibility in tying high-stakes testing results to teacher evaluations and student promotions.

ISTA issued a statement last week following Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s announcement that states could delay the use of high-stakes test results.

The letter to Governor Pence can be read here. A copy was also delivered to Superintendent Glenda Ritz.
