ISTA Members: Let's Connect This Fall
09/10/2015
Beginning tonight in Fort Wayne, ISTA Government Relations is hitting the road again and we want to hear from you.
Teachers and Educational Support Professionals alike—We need your input and real world stories on the issues most affecting your work, your profession, and the students you serve.
Join your colleagues for a collaborative evening of conversation and refreshments at one of ISTA’s Fall Forums. After a brief discussion of policy issues, you will have the opportunity to engage in a group dialogue offering your views and solutions.
Come prepared to discuss:
Teacher Shortages
At the start of the school year, Indiana is experiencing teacher shortages across the state. We’ll discuss the growing debate over its existence, cause, relevance and what we can do about it.
Delayed Test Results
Accountability is responding to student needs. Determining where they are and moving them forward. Let’s talk about addressing student needs, school accountability levels, teacher evaluation results and salary increases.
Salary & Benefits & Bargaining
Bargaining laws changed dramatically a few years ago. We now have a few years under our belts operating under the new laws. What have learned? What do you need that is not being addressed?
Working Conditions
Teachers continue to work hard to support their students and advance learning in schools. Resources to support teachers are key. Here, we’ll discuss class sizes, professional development opportunities and more.
