Cindy Miller, current ISTA/NEA Board of Directors member and former local President of the Crown Point Education Association offers this remembrance of Sen. Landske.

Sen. Sue Landske should be remembered as a public school supporter, a supporter of our students, and of all public school educators in Indiana. Her sympathetic understanding of ISTA issues came through as she would visit with our group from northwest Indiana in her cramped senate office at the Capitol.

Surrounded by stacks of her "homework" as she called it, proposed bills that needed her attention, she would take time to listen to those of us who had traveled to Indianapolis for an ISTA Lobby Day. She would ask us questions as to what we needed to help each situation. She always responded to our emails and phone calls. Sen. Landske was a senator who was able to work across the aisle for public education.

Sue, you are missed.
