ISTA to announce legislative goals for 2015 session
12/18/2014

The Indiana State Teachers Association will hold a news conference to announce its legislative priorities on education issues for the 2015 session of the Indiana General Assembly, January 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Indiana Statehouse.

ISTA President Teresa Meredith will address the media and outline the Association’s plan to improve student learning and the practice of teaching in the new year.

“ISTA wants to ensure that all public school students have the ability to receive a quality public education,” said Meredith. “We look forward to talking about what we stand for and how policymakers and educators can work together to improve student outcomes and advance teaching practices.”

Whether teachers, parents, students, neighbors or elected leaders, everyone plays a part in children’s success. True responsibility means teachers reaching and motivating each child. It means parents acting as partners and it means all of us ensuring our children learn in a safe and supportive environment with the resources necessary to succeed. ISTA will propose real solutions that will move education in Indiana in the right direction.
