Minority Educator Award

Purpose

The Minority Educator Award is given each year to honor current, outstanding minority classroom teachers.

 

Qualifications 
Applicants for the Outstanding Minority Classroom Teacher Award must be ISTA members; be an active participant in the Association; have recommendations from their local association president and a colleague. Applications for the award cover such items as the nominee's educational background, work experiences, Association experiences, community/civic service and other relevant experience which might be of interest to the Committee. Applicants must be nominated by an ISTA member.

Nomination 
Applicants must be nominated by an ISTA member.

Selection of Recipient 
The Minority Affairs Committee will select recipients and make recommendations to the ISTA Board of Directors.

Presentation 
The recipient will be recognized at the ISTA Representative Assembly.

Deadline 
Applications and letters of recommendation must be received by March 1 each year.
