Take Action! Contact legislators and tell them to support a COLA and 13th check for retirees
04/14/2015

retirement-324x324.jpgNo bill in the Senate is moving to give retired public employees and retired teachers either a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) nor what is commonly referred to as a “13th check” augmentation (which differs from a COLA in that it is never factored into the retiree’s base pension benefit). There has been no COLA since 2009.

With inflation, rising health care costs and with each passing year, purchasing power of retired public servants is diminished. The most likely place for these to be inserted would be HB 1001, the budget bill.

Tell your legislators to give our retired public servants a COLA and/or 13th check.
