Why are private voucher schools in Indiana still getting millions of tax dollars despite receiving failing grades?

vouchers.jpgNever mind that tax dollars should be paying for students to attend private, mostly religious based schools. We believe that is just wrong. But for taxpayers to be fitting the bill to send kids to private schools that are failing, that’s just ridiculous.

 

Indiana StateImpact talked to several experts about this issue including Vanderbilt University professor Claire Smrekar. She feels D and F schools shouldn’t get to keep current voucher recipients.

 

“That is not only dangerous, that is detrimental to the academic experiences of those kids. That’s just waiting for the school to fail.”
